Frequently asked questions
Planning Your Outing
Do I need a driver’s license to rent a snowmobile?
Yes. All operators of snowmobiles must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license, and renters must be at least 19 years old to rent a machine.
Can someone under 19 operate or rent a sled?
No. Renters must be 19 years or older; the vehicle shall not be operated by anyone under 19 or anyone not named in the rental agreement.
Can I carry a passenger?
Some sleds (for example the Polaris Voyageur 650 with a 2-up seat) allow a passenger to ride, but passengers may not operate the vehicle unless they are named in the rental agreement and meet the operator’s requirements.
What happens if I return the sled late or without fuel/covers?
Equipment returned after 5:00 p.m. is subject to a late fee; sleds returned without covers or fuel will also incur additional charges.
Is damage insurance included?
No. Optional insurance is available per day per unit and reduces the deductible on rental equipment to a maximum of CA$3,500/CA$5,000 per day per incident; it applies only to the rental equipment and is not liability insurance.
Will I get a refund if weather or an accident cuts my day short?
There is no refund for early returns or shortened periods due to accidents or weather. Mechanical breakdowns not caused by the renter may be eligible for a proportionate rental refund up to the daily rental fee, less charges for use and fuel.
