Rappels, toboggans and water jumps down the narrow Ribeira das Quelhas.

Over a 5–6 hour outing you follow new passadiços before entering a rugged gorge where the route mixes water jumps, natural toboggans, small destrepes and six rappels of roughly 14 to 20 metres; the section is short and designed as an introduction to the activity under guided supervision.

Outing Highlights
A confined, rocky valley and the new Passadiços das Quelhas
The canyon runs through an enclosed, steep-sided vale whose bed, banks and slopes are formed by impressive fragas; the descent begins along the new Passadiços das Quelhas infrastructure before the gorge narrows.
Jumps, toboggans and six rappels
Expect a compact sequence of water jumps and natural toboggans interspersed with six rappel stations of about 14–20 metres each; a few rappels can be optional, and the route includes small destrepes.
Short, technical and beginner-friendly
This is a basic canyoning stretch designed for initiation: it balances technical moves (rapels and descents) with playful elements (slides and jumps), all managed by guides to make it accessible to newcomers.
What the day feels like
What the descent feels like
The day unfolds from an elevated walk on the Passadiços into a tightening gorge. You move as a group through short, exposed sections, alternating hands-on rope work for rappels with buoyant moments in pools — jumping, sliding and negotiating small rock steps — under guide supervision for a full 5–6 hours.
