The Wrangler Special is a longer, more technical trail ride through Joshua Tree National Park designed to challenge riders and sharpen horsemanship under the guidance of Knob Hill Ranch wranglers. The route threads from the ranch through a residential wash into Black Rock Canyon, follows the Border Trail along winding, occasionally steep terrain, moves through slot canyons, and finishes with a short loop offering views of Mt. Gorgonio and Big Bear.

Expect a purposeful, steady five‑hour outing that departs from the ranch, follows a residential wash into Black Rock Canyon, and climbs and winds along the Border Trail where terrain becomes steeper and more technical. On the backside the route links with the Scenic California hiking and riding trail through slot canyons to Burnt Hill, then returns on a short loop with wide views of Mt. Gorgonio and Big Bear. Throughout, wranglers deliver hands‑on instruction to help riders manage the challenge and improve their skills.
