Ticknock Forest is an extensive managed forest area situated in the Dublin Mountains, south of Dublin city. It forms part of the larger Dublin Mountains range, blending mature coniferous plantations with native broadleaf woodland and open mountain landscapes. Ticknock Forest is highly regarded for its network of multi-use trails that accommodate walkers, runners, and mountain bikers. The Dublin Mountains Way trail traverses this area offering long-distance hiking, while the purpose-built mountain bike trails of Ticknock Bike Trails provide graded routes for varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced downhill tracks. One of the key highlights is the breathtaking panoramic view at the top of Cruagh Mountain, where visitors can see across Dublin Bay, the Irish Sea, and on clear days, the Wicklow Mountains.
