Bald Eagle State Forest is situated in the ridge and valley region of central Pennsylvania, sprawling across multiple counties, including Union, Snyder, Centre, Mifflin, Clinton, and Lycoming. The forest encompasses 194,602 acres of deciduous forest, filled with oak, hickory, and pine trees. The geography is defined by its steep ridges and rugged terrain, offering breathtaking vistas and serene natural settings. Established in 1905, the forest is named after the Native American Chief Bald Eagle. It is a part of the Appalachian Mountains and offers a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
