Spanning nearly 1.5 million acres, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is a vast expanse of northern Wisconsin's natural beauty. The forest is split into two segments, Chequamegon to the west and Nicolet to the east. It boasts an extensive network of ecosystems ranging from dense hardwood forests to wetlands and shimmering lakes which provide a habitat for a multitude of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, black bears, and a profusion of bird species.
