Marietas Islands National Park

Marietas Islands National Park comprises a small group of uninhabited islands located about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) off the coast of the Mexican state of Nayarit near the town of Punta Mita. The park is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, rich biodiversity, and geological wonders, including volcanic rock formations and the famous Playa del Amor, or Hidden Beach, a stunning concave cove accessible through a water tunnel. The islands were designated a national park in 2005 to protect their fragile ecosystem, including a wide variety of marine species such as manta rays, dolphins, sea turtles, and tropical fish, as well as numerous seabirds like blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds.
