Mu Ko Chang National Park encompasses a total of 52 islands, the most significant of which is Ko Chang itself. Known for its stunning beaches, the park boasts a variety of ecosystems, from dense rainforests to vibrant coral reefs. The mountainous terrain, with peaks such as Khao Salak Phet reaching heights of up to 744 meters, offers breathtaking views and a habitat for diverse wildlife including macaques, civets, and even wild elephants. This biodiversity is complemented by several waterfalls, the most popular being Klong Plu, which provide scenic spots for visitors. Established to protect the natural beauty and ecological importance of the area, Mu Ko Chang is also rich in history, with evidence of human habitation dating back centuries and significant maritime trade routes passing through.
