Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage
Located in the Maloti Mountains, Ts’ehlanyane National Park covers an expanse of rugged terrain with altitudes reaching up to 3,222 meters. The park is a haven for biodiversity, containing rare and endangered species, including the Cape vulture and the mountain reedbuck. Its high-altitude terrain is marked by mountain streams and indigenous forests, offering spectacular vistas and a pristine environment for outdoor enthusiasts. Historically, the park is part of the highlands water program, intended to conserve the upper reaches of Lesotho's river ecosystems. Visitors can engage in a variety of outdoor activities, with hiking trails winding through diverse landscapes of montane grasslands and alpine woodlands. Key landmarks include the dramatic highland peaks and the pristine Ts’ehlanyane River, which runs through the park, providing excellent opportunities for trout fishing.
