Rwenzori Mountains National Park, located in western Uganda along the Congo border, spans approximately 386 square miles and is famous for its stunning alpine scenery. Known as the "Mountains of the Moon," the Rwenzori range features Africa's third highest peak, Margherita, standing at 16,763 feet. The park is home to various ecological zones, from tropical rainforest to alpine meadows and glacial landscapes, supporting a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
