Saadani National Park is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the Indian Ocean. Established in 2005, it spans approximately 270 square miles, combining a range of habitats including coastal forests, savannahs, and mangroves. The park is distinguished by its significant elephant population and offers sightings of other wildlife such as giraffes, lions, leopards, and a variety of birds and marine life. Visitors can explore the beach, observe wildlife on land and in water, and enjoy activities such as game drives, walking safaris, and boat safaris. Its history includes conservation efforts aimed at protecting key species and habitats from human development.
