The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary (ADS) covers approximately 118 square kilometers encompassing the waters of the Port River, Barker Inlet, and adjoining wetlands near the city of Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 2005, the sanctuary was created to protect the resident population of Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins that inhabit the area, along with their natural environment consisting of tidal waters, mangroves, mudflats, and seagrass beds.
