Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage
Clark County Wetlands Park spans over 2,900 acres on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley in Nevada. This regional park features a combination of managed water features and restored wetlands habitats, providing a crucial oasis for wildlife in the otherwise arid desert environment. Established in 1991, the park aims to protect and enhance the natural and cultural resources of the area while offering opportunities for sustainable recreation and education. The Wetlands Loop Trail, over 14 miles long, is popular for walking, bird watching, and connecting with nature. Visitors might encounter a variety of birds, reptiles, and mammals, making it a hotspot for nature enthusiasts. Besides its rich ecology, the park is equipped with several interpretive displays and the Nature Center, which offers environmental education programs to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands ecosystems.
