Located on the eastern slopes of Taichung City, Dakeng Scenic Area encompasses rolling hills, lush forests, and rugged terrain that create a serene natural escape from the urban environment. Today, Dakeng is a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, providing more than 11 hiking trails that vary in difficulty and length, some featuring wooden staircases and suspension bridges that blend into the forest. One of the area's highlights is the Dakeng Geopark, known for its unique rock formations and impressive views over Taichung. Rock climbing is also a favored activity, with several established climbing routes on the cliffs.
