Karaburun-Sazan Marine Park, established in 2010, is located in the southwestern region of Albania and spans the Karaburun Peninsula and Sazan Island. The park covers an area of about 49,000 acres, offering a unique mix of breathtaking landscapes and seascapes. The region's geographical layout includes rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and pristine beaches, providing an ideal setting for activities such as snorkeling, diving, and swimming among vibrant coral reefs and diverse sea life. Historically, the area has been significant since antiquity, with remnants of Roman and Ottoman influences scattered throughout. The park is renowned for its biodiversity, protecting habitats for species like the Mediterranean monk seal and loggerhead turtles.
