Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was established in 1983. The park covers approximately 281.5 square kilometers and comprises a diverse mosaic of 15 islands within the Bay of Bengal. It features a complex ecosystem with coral reefs, marine flora and fauna, and stretches of rainforest. This park plays a crucial role in conserving marine biodiversity, including threatened and endangered species. Known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, it offers outdoor enthusiasts activities like snorkeling and scuba diving to explore vibrant coral reefs and observe colorful fish, sea turtles, and other marine life. One can also enjoy glass-bottomed boat rides for a dry yet immersive marine experience. The islands within the park, such as Jolly Buoy and Red Skin, are popular for their serene environment and rich underwater life. The park's historical significance is intertwined with the indigenous culture of the islands, and it serves as an attractive spot for eco-tourism and environmental awareness.
