Parco dell'Etna encompasses the majestic Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Covering approximately 224,000 acres, the park spans diverse landscapes ranging from craters and lava fields to dense forests and alpine meadows. The area is rich in flora and fauna, with over 200 bird species and a profusion of endemic plants. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is not only a natural marvel but also a cultural haven with ancient agricultural terraces and traditional buildings dotting the landscape. Visitors can engage in a variety of recreational activities including hiking up to the crater rims, exploring subterranean lava tubes, and winter sports.
