The Cherry Ridge Wildlife Area is situated in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, encompassing a diverse mix of forested hills, wetlands, and small streams over approximately 6,000 acres. Established to conserve and manage wildlife habitat, it is primarily managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The landscape is typical of the Allegheny Plateau region, with northern hardwood forests dominated by oak, maple, birch, and hemlock. The area is important for local populations of white-tailed deer, black bear, wild turkey, and various small game species. Cherry Ridge offers visitors quiet, rustic outdoor experiences with extensive hunting seasons for deer and grouse, as well as wildlife watching opportunities, particularly during spring and fall migrations.
