Vitosha Nature Park, located adjacent to Sofia, Bulgaria, is a protected area spanning over 27,000 hectares. Established in 1934, it is the oldest nature park in the Balkans and features a varied geography ranging from dense woodlands to open, grassy plateaus and rocky mountainous terrain. The park's highest peak, Cherni Vrah, reaches 2,290 meters and serves as a popular hiking destination.
