Laksky Nature Reserve is located in the Laksky District in the mountainous region of the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. Established in 1987, the reserve protects a unique stretch of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, characterized by steep rocky peaks, alpine meadows, and deep narrow gorges. The landscape is dominated by sharp limestone formations and subalpine ecosystems, offering habitat for numerous rare and endemic species. The reserve plays a critical role in preserving the region's biodiversity, including several species of rare birds such as the Caucasian snowcock and mammals like the East Caucasian tur and bezoar goat.
