Chickamauga Lake, a substantial reservoir along the Tennessee River, spans approximately 58.9 square miles in southeastern Tennessee. Created by the Chickamauga Dam, which was completed in 1940, the lake plays a crucial role in flood control, navigation, and power production managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Its extensive shoreline is dotted with parks, marinas, and public access points, making it a hub for outdoor enthusiasts. The surrounding landscape transitions from flowing rivers to rolling woods, providing habitat for a rich variety of wildlife, including numerous fish species, migratory birds, and other native fauna.
