About Arcadia Lake State Park

Arcadia Lake State Park offers a diverse outdoor experience centered around a large reservoir in central Oklahoma, ideal for boating, fishing, hiking, and birdwatching.

Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Located just northeast of Oklahoma City, Arcadia Lake State Park covers a substantial reservoir and surrounding recreational lands managed primarily by the City of Edmond, Oklahoma. The lake was created in 1984 by damming the Deep Fork River and serves both as a flood control and public recreation resource. The park's geography includes rolling wooded hills, wetlands, and open water, which support a wide range of wildlife, including numerous migratory bird species. The area attracts anglers targeting bass, catfish, and crappie, as well as paddlers and power boaters who enjoy its 1,820-acre lake with numerous coves and shoreline access points. The park features over 40 miles of hiking and multi-use trails weaving through varying topography, including the popular Arcadia Lake Trail and the Deep Fork River Corridor. Visitors can explore several picnic areas, boat ramps, a marina, and multiple campgrounds with modern amenities. In addition to fishing and boating, opportunities abound for wildlife viewing, mountain biking, and nature photography. The park's close proximity to metropolitan areas makes it a popular day-use and weekend destination. Significant landmarks include the Lakeview Point and the McGee Creek Natural Area within the park. Arcadia Lake State Park appeals to families, outdoor enthusiasts, and anglers looking for a convenient natural escape with a blend of active recreation and scenic tranquility.
