Halibut Point State Park is situated on the northern tip of Cape Ann in Rockport, Massachusetts. This park is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the opportunity to see as far as Mount Agamenticus in Maine on a clear day. The park covers an area of approximately 55 acres and is characterized by its rocky headlands and former granite quarries. Historically, the area was known for its granite industry, a legacy that is still visible today in the form of the park’s granite formations and quarry ponds. The ecology of Halibut Point is diverse, with coastal meadows, wetlands, and wind-swept beaches providing habitats for various bird species, making it a prime location for birdwatching. Visitors can explore the former Babson Farm Quarry, which now serves as a picturesque pond, and the park's extensive tidepools, which are rich with marine life.
