The Absaroka–Beartooth Wilderness spans over 900,000 acres across Montana and Wyoming, offering a diverse landscape characterized by high mountain peaks, pristine alpine lakes, and vast meadows. Named after the Absaroka and Beartooth ranges, the wilderness area is marked by dramatic terrain, with elevations ranging from 5,000 to over 12,000 feet at its highest peak, Granite Peak, which is the tallest in Montana.
