The Kettle Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) encompasses over 16,000 acres of rugged terrain located primarily in Potter County and parts of Clinton County, Pennsylvania. This WMA features dense mixed hardwood and conifer forests, deep valleys, and cold water streams ideal for wild trout populations, including the renowned Kettle Creek. Established to conserve wildlife habitat and provide public hunting and fishing opportunities, the area supports a variety of species such as white-tailed deer, black bear, wild turkey, and many songbirds. Besides hunting and fishing, visitors can enjoy hiking on several established trails or exploring backcountry roads for mountain biking. The area is known for its seasonal fall foliage, spring wildflowers, and excellent wildlife viewing, particularly during early morning and late evening hours. While there are no developed campgrounds within the WMA, backcountry camping is permitted with proper adherence to regulations. The remote nature of the area offers solitude and natural quiet, appealing to hunters, anglers, hikers, and photographers seeking a less crowded experience. The management area is part of a larger regional network of public lands including nearby state forests, enhancing connected habitat corridors and outdoor recreation possibilities.
