Situated in Becker County, Minnesota, Pelican River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) encompasses over 10,000 acres of wetlands, forested uplands, and riverine systems along the Pelican River. The area's flat to gently rolling terrain includes bogs, marshes, hardwoods, and coniferous stands, providing critical habitat for waterfowl, deer, beaver, and numerous migratory bird species. Historically, this WMA was established to protect waterfowl nesting grounds and enhance public hunting opportunities. Modern visitors frequent the area for birdwatching, especially in spring and fall migration seasons, as well as for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and angling in the Pelican River and associated lakes. Though there are no developed campgrounds within the boundaries, dispersed camping is possible nearby.
