Sparta Mountain Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is a 10,000+ acre conservation site located in Sussex County, New Jersey, spanning parts of Sparta, Vernon, and Hardyston townships. The area is characterized by its rugged terrain and diverse ecological communities, including hardwood forests, wetlands, and streams. The landscape is dominated by forested ridges of the Sparta Mountains, which provide scenic vistas and essential habitat for numerous wildlife species such as white-tailed deer, black bear, wild turkey, and various migratory birds.
