Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, located in McIntosh County, Georgia, spans 2,762 acres of marsh, ponds, hardwood forest, and grassland habitats. This refuge, once a World War II airfield, is now a haven for thousands of species, most notably wood storks and other wading birds. As a part of the South Atlantic Coastal Plain, the refuge plays a critical role in providing stopover habitat for migratory birds along the Atlantic Flyway.
