Meteora, located in the region of Thessaly in Greece, is renowned for its dramatic rock formations rising majestically from the valley. These towering pillars, formed through millennia of geological processes, serve as home to one of the largest and most important complexes of Greek Orthodox monasteries, second only to Mount Athos. The site is both a cultural and natural marvel, with six of the original 24 monasteries still in operation.
