How long is ASA 103?
ASA 103 is a two-day course that runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
Do I need prior sailing experience?
Yes. ASA 103 requires successful completion of ASA 101: Basic Keelboard Sailing as a prerequisite.
What skills will I be able to demonstrate after the course?
Students will be prepared to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary-powered keelboat of approximately 25 to 35 feet by day in moderate wind and sea conditions, and will have practiced sail trim, anchoring, reefing, docking, navigation rules and basic coastal navigation.
Are course materials provided?
Yes. All course materials, including the ASA 103 book and study guide, are provided; reviewing the book prior to class is recommended.
