Yes. Rydables are ADA-compliant mobility scooters with multiple safety features: electromagnetic braking that engages when the throttle is released, an anti-roll hill-lock, two-wheel drive with suspension on all four wheels, GPS tracking with geofencing, and speed governors that can be set manually or electronically.
What are the age limitations for operating a Rydable alone?
Only children 12 years old and older may operate a Rydable on their own; younger children may ride when seated directly in front of an adult rider under the operator’s policies.
What is the weight limit?
Rydables can hold up to 375 lbs and are ADA compliant.
Can I eat or drink during the tour?
No; only plain bottled water is allowed on the Rydables. The operator also provides bottled water for participants.
On what surfaces can Rydables operate?
Rydables are multi-terrain capable and can be used on grass, gravel, dirt, hills and indoors provided conditions aren’t extremely thick or deep; the tour is conducted almost exclusively on city sidewalks and crosses major streets at pedestrian crosswalks.
How fast do Rydables go on the tour?
Operator materials quote several top-speed figures for Rydables (modes listed up to 4.25 mph or 7.5 mph in one place and up to 8 mph in another); regardless, the guided tour does not run at top speed because of stops, turns and sidewalk conditions.
