Outing Highlights

THE LANDSCAPE

Paddle the Emerald Reach of the Colorado

Float through the Black Canyon’s clear, green water and discover hidden coves and small beaches—the core reason many choose a self-guided outing here is the solo access to quiet stretches of river and shoreline.

THE FREEDOM

Set Your Own Pace—No Guide Required

This rental gives experienced paddlers, couples, and small groups the control to linger where they want; there’s no guided narration, just the river and a provided map to plot your route.

THE PERKS

Gear, Snacks and Courtesy Extensions for Early Launches

Rentals include kayaks, life vests, dry bags, bottled water, sun hats, and waterproof phone cases; early morning launches (for example 8:00 AM slots) may request a 1–2 hour courtesy extension to maximize time on the water.

What the day feels like

What It Feels Like to Self-Drive the Canyon

After a brief check-in and safety overview at the EZ Kayak trailer, you’ll launch from the designated paddlecraft area and set a personal route through the Black Canyon. With quality equipment and a provided map, you can explore coves, stop on beaches, and return on your own schedule within the rental window—an independent rhythm that suits confident paddlers and couples who value flexibility over structured narration.
