THE GROUP

Private, small-group instruction

Lessons are built for intimate groups—minimum two and capped at four—so instructors tailor pacing and attention to your party.

THE KIT

Boards and wetsuits included

Every lesson includes the equipment you need: a surfboard and a wetsuit are supplied for each participant, removing gear logistics from the day.

THE SETTING

Flexible beaches to match the surf

Instructor teams choose the lesson beach based on safety and swell—meeting near Carmel and shifting to Asilomar, Del Monte Beach, or the Monterey Municipal Wharf as conditions require.

What the day feels like

What the two-hour lesson feels like

The lesson is a compact, social crash course: gather at the agreed meeting point, get fitted with a wetsuit and board, and move into the surf for instructor-led coaching and waves geared to the group size and conditions—designed as a shared, memorable introduction to riding Monterey’s breaks.

Suitability

Who it's for

Who this lesson is made for—and who it isn’t—based on participant limits and stated age guidance.

1
FamiliesGood fit: the offering is described as suitable for all ages and accommodates small family groups within the 2–4 participant limit.
2
Groups of FriendsDesigned for small friend groups—create your own private lesson for two to four people for a social shared experience.
3
Solo TravelersNot ideal for single travelers unless you join with at least one other person, since the minimum group size is two.
4
Large PartiesPoor fit: lessons cap at four participants, so larger parties should split into multiple bookings or seek other options.
