The vehicle ascends the 4WD track over about 8.2 km of bumpy off‑road terrain; if you suffer motion sickness inform your guide so they can seat you in the least bumpy part of the vehicle.

Are there toilet facilities on the route?

There is a composting toilet stop at base camp where you can also pick up a walking stick.

How difficult is the summit track?

The summit track requires a medium/moderate fitness level; ground is volcanic/scoria and can be slippery, there is a scree slope of about 45° roughly 400 m deep, and two short sections (~50 m each) require four points of contact.

Can I bring food and water?
