The course requires a minimum of three days and runs mainly September–May; Dive Lord Howe is closed 1 June–31 August for equipment servicing and seasonal conditions.
Bring swimwear, towel, water, reef‑safe sun protection, lunch/snacks, and your completed Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire (or email it in advance).
A 5mm wetsuit is suitable year-round; in cooler months (water as low as 18°C) a hood or vest is recommended and available from the dive shop.
Summer visibility typically ranges 25–40+ metres with water from 22–26°C; cooler months can see 10–20 metres visibility and temperatures down to around 18°C.
