Bring a camera and binoculars if desired (photography is allowed through habitat fences), your own water if preferred, sun protection, and wear comfortable closed-toed walking shoes. Be prepared for extreme seasonal temperatures; check weather and road conditions before visiting.
Advance reservations are required. All visitors must arrive by vehicle; there is ample parking in a dirt lot a short walk from the education center. The operator cannot accommodate drop-offs, walk-ups from K.Q. Ranch, or ride-share services. Vehicles larger than 15-passenger vans should call ahead.
