Outing Highlights
Two focused sessions: texture first, colour next
The workshop is split across two mornings: the first session concentrates on composition and building texture with assorted materials; the work is left to dry overnight so the following day’s focus can be solely on colour relationships and finishing touches.
Collage elements and found textures
Participants arrange fabrics, papers, shells, beads, dried seeds, twigs and leaves into unique textured designs; the instructor will also supply a selection of materials to use during the session.
A completed abstract to take home
By the end of day two you will have explored colour theory on a pre-textured surface and completed an artwork to keep.
What the day feels like
What the two mornings feel like
Each morning runs as a concentrated studio session: you arrive at the House of Jules Art Studio and spend the first day composing and anchoring textures into a design; after an overnight cure you return the next morning to layer colour, refine relationships and complete a finished piece. The rhythm is deliberate—hands-on material work followed by considered colour application.
