THE ANIMALS

Meet Piper, Kiki and Taz — and their habitat mates

Three Bennett’s Wallabies call Wild Wonders home. On this experience the keeper/educator brings you to a bench in the habitat so the wallabies will hop over to take treats, and you’ll also encounter Patagonian cavies Chalupa and Chui as they share the same space.

THE BACKSTAGE

Behind-the-scenes access on a 5-acre facility

The visit includes a Behind the Scenes tour of Wild Wonders’ 5-acre facility, pairing the intimate wallaby encounter with additional animal visits and keeper-led interpretation.

THE PRACTICAL

Biosecurity and footwear rules

Wallabies are sensitive to disease; guests must wear closed-toe shoes and dip the bottoms of their shoes in the exterior disinfectant footbath before entering the habitat to help keep the animals healthy.

What the day feels like

What the experience feels like

The tour unfolds as a focused, keeper-led encounter: after a brief orientation you move through portions of the small, curated facility and a keeper escorts you to a bench at the wallabies’ habitat. With a handful of their favorite treats in hand the wallabies approach and feed from you while staff discuss their care; the experience blends close, calm contact with interpretive moments about the animals and their environment.
