Floating Over Vang Vieng: Above Laos Ballooning

First hot air balloon flight and it was great. Safe, breakfast, round-trip transport to our hotel and all friendly staff! We stayed in the air for 1h04 minutes with the sunrise ☀️

Wow, a once in a lifetime experience. Flying with Above Laos is worth paying a bit more for. The base is a bit out of town, meaning you are surrounded by the mountains and countryside. Our flight was about 50 minutes which was far longer than we expected. The process from pick up to drop off was seamless. The whole morning felt a bit like a dream - and not just because we got up so early! A huge thank you in particular to our pilot Vone. He has a very good sense of humour and you feel entirely safe in his company. He really made our experience that little bit extra happy. Thank you Vone and the rest of the Laos Air team!

The alarm went off early at 5:10 AM, but we had something exciting to look forward to: gently floating between the mountains, above the morning mist, and the stunning beauty of Vang Vieng. The balloon ride was breathtakingly beautiful! The staff at Above Laos were super friendly and extremely skilled at what they do! We had Vone as our pilot. He was kind and funny :) We had a great conversations (speaking in English and with me Vone can talk Thai too, 555). After the flight, there was plenty of time to reflect the awesome trip and enjoy some breakfast and champagne together! Pop 🍾🥂 Thanks to all the crew and staff!! it was magical!! Above Laos Ballooning is highly recommended!

My experience with Above Laos was one I will not soon forget. Everything started well: a well-organized start and a team that clearly had a passion for their profession. The balloon flight promised to be a great experience! But as is always the case in aviation, the weather can be unpredictable. Shortly before the planned landing there was suddenly a strong wind. What reassured us enormously was the professionalism of the organization. Instead of taking risks, 3 of the 4 balloons decided not to take off. Of course that was a disappointment for those who could not fly, but the genuine concern of the guides and their explanation of the decision made it clear that safety always comes first. It was great to see how committed the team was and how seriously they took their responsibility. Better a canceled flight than an unsafe landing, and that shows professionalism. I would love to come back again and really appreciate their dedication! A big compliment to the organization – their professionalism and focus on safety deserve all the respect!
