Excellent trailhead parking lot with plenty of shade. Excellent place to take a nap after a picnic. And I am the hunter but can't hear...my wife pointed out six Merriam turkeys. Pretty cool.

Great little hike with lots of scenery. About 2 miles round trip, mostly uphill on the way up but a gradual incline that was not strenuous. Gorgeous views toward the west and the Crest Road and Crest going up, and at the top, beautiful views to the northwest. Even a little cave which was apparently an old mine entrance. Probably not a good trail for very small children or elderly, but the vast majority of people should enjoy it.
