The drive to Mount Wolverine is one of the most stunning parts of the journey. As you make your way up Big Cottonwood Canyon, you’re surrounded by tall, jagged peaks, lush alpine forests, and pristine rivers running alongside the road. The road winds and climbs through the canyon, offering unbelievable views that only get better the closer you get to the mountain. Driving through the canyon, you’re treated to views of Big Cottonwood Creek flowing down below and the towering Pfeifferhorn and Mount Superior rising above you. The combination of wildflower-filled meadows, rocky cliffs, and snow-capped peaks makes the whole drive feel like you’re entering another world. What really makes the drive special is that it’s not just about getting to the trailhead—the scenery along the way is worth the trip on its own. Whether you’re coming in the summer when the greenery is at its peak, or in the fall when the aspens turn golden, the landscape will leave you in awe. This drive, especially as you make your way past Brighton Resort and up to the trailhead, is not just the start of a hike—it’s a chance to immerse yourself in some of the most breathtaking scenery in Utah. The whole experience makes getting to Mount Wolverine feel like a complete adventure, even before you start your hike! Highly recommended for those who love a beautiful drive as much as a great hike!

One of the most beautiful peak with epic views sits above 10,000ft in Utah which is not hard to get to in the Summer/Fall. A loop hike About 8 miles 2600 ft elevation gain from Brighton, walk past 5 beautiful lakes and 360 views on ridge made this hike is one of the most beautiful hike.

Beautiful, beautiful hike. Alta never disappoints. The final pushes to both peaks were thrilling but not terrifying. Steep but not “oh my god I’m going to die.” As long as you trust your feet you’ll be fine. Lots of mosquitos at the top, but they’re the kind that you willingly believe your bug-spray will work against, or wave away with your hand, not the cocaine raged psycho abominations like up Broads Fork in BCC. These mosquitos were manageable. Took about 2 hours to the top because I took so many pictures and 90 minutes down, enjoying the sunset. Lots of cute chipmunks, saw one very round fluffy mouse?? At the top of Wolverine is some sort of breeding ground for ladybugs, that was a neat surprise. Despite so many cars down in the lot and at Alta and Snowbird, I only saw five people my whole hike. It’s amazing what you can experience and see up here for free with minimal effort. Just beautiful to look down into Alta AND Brighton from a peaceful peak all to yourself on a warm day.
