A great hike. We were told it would take about 2 hours to climb up to the lake and another 2 to descend. But in reality, it took us about 5 hours and a bit, because we started a bit further from the trailhead and because we were taking photos and such. Based on my experience, I'd like to share a few points: 1) From the moment you start until you reach Estany de les Truites, be prepared to ONLY CLIMB, AND CLIMB, AND CLIMB... Just when you think you've climbed enough, don't worry, there's still more climbing ahead. 2) Remember: What goes up, you'll have to come back down, haha. 3) Once you reach the lake, you'll see a very well-built refuge. It has restrooms and a water fountain to refill your water bottles. 4) As for the lake itself, I expected it to be a bit nicer, but it's fine. After seeing the Tristaina lakes and others, this one pales in comparison. You can cool your feet in it, or if you're feeling brave, take a dip. The water is cool, but not freezing.

The route to get here is somewhat demanding. It's not long, but you need good knees. The terrain isn't flat; there are many rocky climbs.
