The site itself is nice. It is well maintained and pretty easily accessible. The caveat to that is that they do not advertise that there is a $10 parking fee when you search for things to do in Astoria. I ended up paying for myself and my sister who was following me in and the lady still charged my sister the parking fee. She refunded it, but it still came off as suspicious to me especially when she repeated to me the make and color of the car I was paying for and the fact that my sister was quite literally directly behind me.

An absolute must-visit on the Oregon Coast! Climbed the 164-step spiral staircase to the top and the 360-degree views of the Columbia River meeting the Pacific were breathtaking. Loved tracing the historic murals spiraling up the column on the way up. Picked up a balsa wood glider from the gift shop beforehand and launching it from the top was such a fun, memorable touch. Well worth the climb — highly recommend!
