Known as Luzon’s highest peak, this stunning destination offers breathtaking views of rolling mists and ethereal landscapes. As you approach Kabayan, Benguet, the region unfurls its unique charm with grassland valleys and a rare mossy forest ecosystem. This mountain is not just a scenic delight but also a critical biological reserve, housing endemic species like the dwarf bamboo and the Benguet pine.

The allure of Mt. Pulag is heightened by its cool climate, which is a refreshing break from the surrounding lowlands. The trails provide adventurers with a multi-day hiking experience, offering different levels of difficulty and the rewarding sight of the 'sea of clouds' at sunrise. Importantly, the mountain holds cultural significance for the native Ibaloi people, who regard it as a sacred resting place.

Editorial Assessment

Mt. Pulag is a fantastic destination thanks to its unique cloud formations, diverse ecosystems, and cultural significance. However, due to its lack of distinctive geological formations like those seen in other iconic landmarks, it holds a slightly lower iconic status.

The trek was great, took us 6 hours to climb but did not feel very tired because of the nice pacing. Our problem is the toilet. The one in camp 1 was really horrible. The toilet in camp 2 has long line so better be prepared.
