Turquoise Wonder: Rio Celeste Nature

We’re a couple traveling Costa Rica for wildlife photography. We asked Josher for a private tour as our requirements for good subjects are demanding and just ‘seeing’ an animal is only part of the story: Good pictures require good light, animals not covered by branches, the right distance and a good background. We were lucky to have Jesus on board the boat too, besides being a terrific guide he also shoots great photographs and together with Josher he managed to find us incredible opportunities for amazing pictures. It was an eight hour tour that was interleaved with delicious homemade snacks and a stop for a small local lunch that was very tasty! Best event was actually seeing a basilisk running over water, a thing mentioned on many tours - Josher and Jesus’s tour was the one that let us witness this for real;-)

We parked here because a man pointed us in the middle of the road from the highway. Thinking it was the only parking option, we paid the 3,000 colones it cost. As we left the parking lot and headed towards the National Park entrance, we saw other free parking areas. That's when we went back to demand our money back, since we had been FORCED to park there. When we told the man who had charged us (a short, overweight man with glasses), he said he wasn't going to give us our money back. When we asked him again, he became violent and confronted us. The next part of the story is priceless. We went up to talk to the guy who had forced us into the parking lot, and after arguing, they backed down and gave us our money back. That's when the violent man who had charged us turned around and left, threatening us: "Do whatever you want, I know your car." I find this behavior deplorable and it reflects very poorly on this man and what he represents (both the parking lot and restaurant, as well as this beautiful country and the good people of this place). Pura vida and down with these undesirables!

A last-minute booking that turned out to be absolutely captivating. A two-hour descent with guides who provided us with some wonderful family moments.

We would like to thank the wonderfull guide Jesus. We both are 50 years old and we felt 16💙❤️💙This is really a very safe and nice way to discover the beautiful Rio Celeste.

Excellent family experience. Entertainment, nature, perfect atmosphere. Jimmy and Juan made the adventure even better. We absolutely recommend it! The facilities are brand new and very modern. The river is wonderful. It's a must-see in Costa Rica. Congratulations to the whole team!
