This place is managed by SINAC, so you need to book your ticket online in advance. It’s usually not too crowded, and you can often buy a ticket on the spot by connecting to the local Wi-Fi when you arrive. Keep in mind that there is also a parking fee of 3,000 colones, which must be paid in cash. The hike to the waterfall is easy and pleasant, with plenty of insects and birds along the way, their songs adding to the peaceful atmosphere. However, be careful of snakes in the area! The waterfall itself is absolutely gorgeous, with incredibly blue water. There’s a slight smell in the air, but it doesn’t take away from the beauty. The viewpoint is small, but if you go early, like with the first group at 8 AM, you’ll avoid the crowds and have a more peaceful experience. After visiting the waterfall, you can walk another 1 km to see where the blue river begins. This is where two clear streams merge and turn into the stunning blue river. The whole place feels magical and serene, definitely worth the extra walk! Just a heads up, drones are not allowed in this area, so make sure to leave them behind if you’re planning a visit.

Río Celeste y Los Teñideros was one of the most magical places we visited during our trip to Costa Rica. The entire experience felt like walking through a dream. The vibrant blue color of the river is just unbelievable—photos don’t do it justice. You truly have to see it with your own eyes to believe it! We went there by car. There is a parking and you have to pay for that. We did a self-guided hike. The walk is not very difficult but can get a bit muddy, so wearing good hiking shoes is definitely recommended. There are also some steps and uneven paths, but it's manageable if you take your time. The trail takes you through beautiful rainforest with lots of greenery, birds, and nature all around. Reaching Los Teñideros and watching the two rivers merge into that electric blue color was such a unique sight—it felt like nature’s own magic trick! We didn’t rush and took our time soaking in the surroundings. You can also see waterfalls and other scenic spots along the trail depending on how much time and energy you have. This spot is definitely a must-visit if you're a nature lover or just want to experience something truly unique in Costa Rica. Highly recommended!
