Stunning high-elevation lake with dramatic mountain backdrop and incredible fall colors. Easily one of the most scenic trailheads in the area. Access to here is easy.

Drive your low rider clapped out Honda and drive 2 mph. To the trailhead. The good news, everyone following you will find the easiest line through the bumps. And, you wont stir up dust. Or just go to Yosemite. Otherwise this place is Alpine Joy.

It’s a waste to come here and not go hiking. The wildflowers are really beautiful from May-August. This is a gorgeous alpine lake off Bishop. Bishop Creek and nearby rivers are also beautiful. Backcountry has smaller creeks and small waterfall. Fishermen are everywhere.
