Extremely disappointing experience — not what we expected I booked this hotel through Booking.com for my two sisters as a birthday celebration and overnight stay. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special occasion turned into a very frustrating experience. Despite having an existing Booking.com reservation and having exchanged messages with the hotel beforehand regarding the birthday celebration, the receptionist could not locate the booking when my sisters arrived. They were left waiting while they had to contact Booking.com themselves to resolve the issue. There seemed to be no one taking ownership of the situation or making the check-in process easier for them. We were then told that the hotel uses an app for practically everything, including room service and other requests. The problem was that because their booking could apparently not be located, the app wasn't working for them either. There was also no straightforward way to contact reception from the room. The biggest disappointment came when my sisters wanted to arrange a birthday cake for midnight. They were told that this could only be done through the app. When they explained that the app wasn't working, they were essentially told there was nothing the hotel could do. They eventually had to find the hotel's number themselves through Google just to speak to reception. The response was still that they couldn't assist unless the request was made through the app. The alternative offered was for my sister to physically go downstairs to the bakery, purchase a cake herself and take it back to the room. For a hotel presenting itself as one of the finest and charging the prices it does, this level of service was honestly shocking. To make matters worse, the room was directly opposite a bar, with people making noise until around midnight/1 a.m. There was also no particularly appealing view from the room. Considering what we paid for just one night, we expected a much more comfortable and special experience, especially since the hotel knew in advance that this was a birthday celebration. The issue wasn't just one small inconvenience — it was a series of poor experiences that added up to a very disappointing stay. I genuinely expected much more from a hotel of this standard. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it based on this experience, particularly if you are booking for a special occasion.
