About This Adventure Destination

Chichester Falls, located just outside Eugene in Oregon’s lush Willamette Valley region, offers visitors a captivating glimpse of peaceful wilderness just a short drive from city life. This unassuming waterfall charms with its refreshing cascade that drops over mossy rocks into a quiet, crystal-clear pool below. The surrounding forest is rich with towering old-growth trees, some draped across the creek, creating natural bridges and adding to the inviting atmosphere.

Visitors are drawn to Chichester Falls not for grand scale but for its intimate and tranquil setting, which creates a deep sense of connection to nature. The falls create gentle rapids and a natural waterslide, which add a playful element to the scene. A distinct feature is the high forest road bridge overlooking the falls, offering an impressive vantage point often overlooked in the region. The area’s dense vegetation includes native ferns and other lush greenery, supporting local wildlife such as deer and numerous bird species, making the spot an appealing destination for casual wildlife observers.

Historically, this area carries significance for Indigenous people who have long appreciated the natural beauty and resources of these woods. Though off the beaten path, the waterfall is accessible without a long hike, making it a favored stop for photographers, day-trippers, and nature lovers seeking a quiet refuge. Visitors are advised to respect the fragile environment by following Leave No Trace principles, as the spot has limited facilities and no picnic areas.

It's right off the road bit from the old concrete bridge. Way down is easy ish. The pull off can only hold a vehicle or 2. And is usually a dump. Sad... Please pick up your garbage. The walk along the creek is easy. The falls are beautiful in their smallness the pool was about as deep and accessible as any I've been to.

After reading through reviews thoroughly, we found it on the first turn in. HOWEVER, the walk down isn’t super safe and I brought my dog so we ended up seeing it from up top and through the trees. Plan on coming back with better shoes and no dogs. This is the view(s) we got. The person who said stop before the bridge then across the street is a stair like structure that goes under the bridge was helpful.

She’s a beauty! Park in the pull off area just before the concrete bridge, walk to the North West end of bridge and walk down under the bridge. At the creek edge, turn right and walk down the creek to the pool and waterfall. There is very limited places to stand that is outside the water. Do not bring food or drinks down to the Falls because there’s no place to be able to picnic or hangout. Leave No Trace.
