I had an excellent experience doing the 5 day Salkantay Trek with our guide Elisban. The accommodation was excellent and food was exceptional. The hikes each day were tough, but Elisban and the staff made it much better. I can definitely recommend this company for your tour and will hopefully tour with them again!

We took two tours with Salkantay Trekking: the 4-day, 3-night Salkantay Trek and the Rainbow Mountain tour. Our experience with the Salkantay Trek was, overall, wonderful. The accommodations, the food, and especially the guides were excellent. The organization during the trek was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, there were some aspects related to the prices that caught our attention. Although the tour was already priced higher than other options on the market, some services like the sleeping bag and trekking poles were charged separately. In the case of the sleeping bag, it was charged for all four days, even though, as they explained to us, it was only used for one night. What frustrated us most was discovering that, when comparing prices directly in the Plaza de Armas, some items or services offered by the agency were priced at approximately double what it would cost to rent them directly. We believe that, considering the premium price already paid for the tour, these types of extras should be more competitively priced or included. Our biggest disappointment was the Rainbow Mountain tour. The place and the hike itself are spectacular and truly worth experiencing. However, Salkantay Trekking charged us around $80 USD per person, while in Cusco we easily found other agencies offering practically the same tour for approximately $30–$40 USD. For the price difference, we expected a clearly superior service, a more exclusive experience, or some significant difference, but in our case, that wasn't the case. The experience was very similar to what other agencies offered for considerably less money. In short, we recommend the Salkantay Trek for the quality of the guides, the food, the accommodations, and the overall experience. However, we recommend carefully comparing the prices of the extras, and especially the Rainbow Mountain tour, before booking. For us, the value for money of the latter did not justify the difference.

I highly recommend this company for the 5-day Salkantay Trek! Our guide was Joël, who made the experience exceptional. He's funny, energetic, and provides a wealth of information about the wildlife, flora, and history. The accommodations were perfect. The food was delicious and plentiful. We're used to hiking without a guide, but I highly recommend doing this trek with Salkantay Trekking. It's a real energy saver: all you have to do is enjoy the hike, they take care of everything else! An incredible experience that I wholeheartedly recommend.
